A thoughtfully built songwriting community where artistry and structure meet, and where committed writers are equipped to grow, refine and build work that lasts.
About Stewart’s Songwriting Studio
Stewart’s Songwriting Studio was created from a simple but powerful belief: songwriting is both an art and a craft.
Founded by singer-songwriter and educator Lya Stewart (BA Hons), the Studio brings together real-world creative practice and structured educational experience. Lya’s background spans professional songwriting, performance and years of curriculum design and classroom leadership, equipping her with a rare blend of artistic insight and thoughtful teaching methodology.
The Studio exists to bridge a gap. Many aspiring songwriters are either left alone to “figure it out” creatively, or placed in rigid systems that overlook individuality. Stewart’s Songwriting Studio offers something different — a balanced approach where creativity is nurtured, technical skill is developed, and progress is intentional.
The Philosophy
At the heart of the Studio is the belief that:
• Creativity thrives within gentle structure
• Technique strengthens confidence
• Every writer has a distinct voice worth developing
• Growth happens through reflection, refinement and resilience
Songwriting is not just about inspiration. It is about learning to shape ideas, refine language, understand melody and build songs that stand up over time.
The Studio supports this process step by step.
Who It’s For
Stewart’s Songwriting Studio welcomes:
• Young writers discovering their creative voice
• Aspiring songwriters seeking structure and direction
• Artists refining their craft and confidence
• Individuals looking for a supportive creative community
Whether through courses, workshops or mentoring, the Studio is designed to meet writers where they are and guide them forward with clarity and care.
The Vision
Stewart’s Songwriting Studio is more than a course platform. It is an evolving creative ecosystem.
Through structured learning pathways, community spaces and in-person opportunities, the Studio aims to equip songwriters not only to write better songs, but to grow as thoughtful, resilient artists.
Because great songs are not accidents.
They are built with intention.
Meet Lya
Songwriting has been a constant in my life, from early notebooks of unfinished lyrics to recording and releasing my own music. Over time, I’ve come to see it not just as inspiration, but as craft — something that can be shaped, strengthened and developed with intention.
My background in education deeply influences how I teach. I believe creativity thrives when it’s supported by clarity, structure and thoughtful feedback. That balance is at the heart of Stewart’s Songwriting Studio.
This space is for those discovering their voice, those returning to it, and those in the middle — writers who care about their work and want to refine it further.
If you’re ready to take your songwriting seriously, you are welcome here.
